The deadline to register to vote or update your registration is Monday, October 5th, 2020 at 4:00pm local time.

VOTE BY MAIL >

The absentee ballot request portal is LIVE now! You can request your ballot to vote by mail online today. Anyone may request an absentee ballot by stating that they are afraid of contracting or passing on the COVID-19 virus, and there is no age limit for who can request an absentee ballot.

The deadline to apply online for an Absentee ballot is October 9, 2020 no later than 11:59 p.m. EST.

Ballots will be mailed out to voters beginning in mid- to late-September, but no need to wait until then to request your ballot if you plan to vote by mail. The portal is live so that you can pre-apply for a ballot today.

All ballots must be postmarked by November 3 and received by county clerks by November 6. If you plan to mail your ballot in, we recommend you mail it back as soon as possible in order to make sure it arrives in time! County clerks will have drop-off boxes for those concerned about sending in their ballots by mail.

County clerks will be required to contact voters whose absentee ballots do not contain signatures or those who have mismatched signatures until November 9 to cure their ballots.

EARLY VOTING >

Starting on October 13, registered voters will have the option to cast their ballot early in person for three weeks heading into November 3. Those polls will be open Monday through Saturday.

SKyPAC will be used as the venue for Early Voting in Warren County.

VOTING IN-PERSON ON ELECTION DAY >

Each county’s election officials will submit plans for Election Day on the number of voting locations available.

In addition, each county will have a voting “super-center,” where every voter in that county can go to vote on Election Day, regardless of their precinct.

Warren County Clerk Lynette Yates said the county will have at least five polling locations open on Election Day: the Phil Moore Park, Buchanon Park and Ephram White Park gymnasiums, Living Hope Baptist Church, and SKyPAC. They are working on one more location, but it has yet to be approved by the state.

KENTUCKY’S NEW PHOTO VOTER ID BILL >

A new photo voter ID bill will go into effect for the November General Election.

However, if someone has been unable to obtain a photo ID due to the pandemic, but has a different form of ID, they will still be able to vote. They will have to sign a document explaining why they were unable to get the required photo ID.

For online absentee ballot requests, voters with a driver’s license will not have to scan in their photo ID to receive a ballot since the online portal to apply for a ballot is linked to the Kentucky driver’s license database.
